The Boomerang represented the third two-door wedge-shaped prototype in the series created by Giorgetto Giugiaro and his Italdesign. The only functional prototype was technically related to the Maserati Bora, which meant using the same engine. This was a 4.7-liter V8 that had two valves per cylinder and produced 306 horsepower.
